The Weekend

Caleb's birthday is on Valentine's Day, so each year we have several days of celebration mid-February. For his birthday he opted to stay home for dinner (he prefers my cooking to going out, which I take as a huge compliment!) and spend time just the two of us. Saturday we had plans to go hiking for our Valentine's Day, but snow and rain was in the forecast. It rarely snows here, so we assumed it would rain and tried to think of something else to do instead. Saturday morning we decided just to go for it. We started hiking in the bitter cold and had a wonderful time. About halfway through the loop, it started snowing! This is our second winter here and there's been no snow, so we were so surprised! It continued snowing and actually started sticking, so we had a beautiful hike in the snow. It was so fun to be outside in the beautiful snow just talking and spending time doing something different. It was perfect until it started lightning!! I'm really afraid of lightning, and there were in the woods on top of a mountain! We ran the rest of the way to get back to the car, so it made for an exciting end to our hike:) We had planned to go to dinner Saturday night, but with the snow we just decided to have a night in. It was such a treat to see our house in snow for the first time and have a mini snowday:)! How was your weekend?

  4. What a fun hike! I don't think I've ever hiked in the snow (like a real trail) but I bet it was awesome to see it coming down in the woods. Glad you had a great birthday/Valentine's Day weekend!

  7. Fascinating blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere?
A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really
make my blog stand out. Please let me know where you got your design.

  9. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand.

It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward
for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
