Farewell, Summer

I know it's technically not fall yet, but something about September just shifts my mindset to fall. School has started, the pool has closed, the calendar flips to September, and I feel like summer has ended. Summer of '13, you were WONDERFUL. Here's some snapshots of my summer from instagram. Looking through them almost makes me want to fast forward to next summer, because summer is just the best! But I'm also really excited for fall. We went apple picking yesterday with friends, and between the cool mountain air and the apple cider donuts, I am ready for fall. Here's to September!

p.s. summertime on this blog is slooow. now that fall is here I'll be back to my regular posting + blog reading :)

Hammocks

I'm dreaming of a hammock for our backyard. We have two perfect trees; now we just need to find the perfect hammock! I've always wanted a hammock in my backyard, for reading in the cool evenings and for sipping on lemonade in the afternoons. I'm so excited that we're actually going to get one! I'm on the hunt for a good one - I just can't decide if I want it to be woven or not, colorful or white. What do you think?

The Weekend

Aren't three-day weekends just the BEST? Since we were gone the past two weekends with our vacation at the beach, this was the first weekend that we've had at home that has felt like summertime. We soaked up every minute of it! Our weekend was full of everything I love about summertime: SUNSHINE, eating outside, laying by the pool, strawberry picking, tennis, driving our MG around town, planting things in the yard--it was perfect Having such a great weekend makes it even harder to go back to work, but only four days 'til we can do it again. What'd y'all do this weekend?

The Weekend

This past weekend my parents came to visit.  We had such a good time!  We loved having my parents in our new home enjoying it with us, especially our dinners out back on the porch.  We also went to the farmer's market, played tennis, went shopping, met my aunt and uncle for brunch in a cute French cafĂ©, and just enjoyed talking and catching up.  We really enjoy having people in our home and are excited to have the room to be able to do it more!
