The NotWedding

A couple of weeks ago I was able to attend the NotWedding in Atlanta.  The NotWedding is the ultimate bridal show, complete with a ceremony and a sit-down dinner followed by dancing.  It is the most creative and fun way to see vendors at work, so that future brides can walk away with an idea of exactly what a particular vendor is able to offer for the big day.  Seeing and experiencing everything in person is way better than just a portfolio or a taste-testing session.  I wish I had had the NotWedding to attend when I was planning my wedding!  Future brides in the Atlanta, San Diego, or Orlando areas:  you should definitely plan to attend The NotWedding next summer!  Here are some images to show just how amazing this incredible event was.  You can see more of the event details here!

The Ultimate (fake) Wedding

Have you heard of the Not Wedding?  It is a super fun alternative to a bridal show!  It's a one-night event with a ceremony, a sit-down dinner, and a reception complete with dancing.  If you are a bride-to-be, it is an awesome way to see the vendors in action:  hear the DJ's music, taste the food, see pretty invitations, etc.  It's happening on July 21 in Atlanta, so go check out the website and buy your tickets here!  All future-brides, or anyone who just loves weddings as much as I do, as well as wedding vendors, this is the event for you!

Also, if you are planning a wedding, the Not Wedding also has a project coming in the next few weeks called Snag the Swag.  Sign up to hear about great deals on all wedding-related stuff!

I hope to see you there!

Bringing Home Baby

We were finally able to bring our baby home Sunday night.
I am excited to be able to introduce him on the blog!  This our
British baby, B.  B as in MGB.

This is our '72 MGB.  When Caleb got this in 2003, it was filled with
dirt, leaves, as well as wasp and bird nests.  The hood was rusted shut
and a wheel was rusted stuck.  It definitely didn't run.  It was a piece.

For seven years it sat in his parents' garage, and he would
work on it when he was visiting home.

Caleb completely restored the entire thing, from the inside out.  He did all of the
work himself, except for having it painted this amazing color green.

After we got engaged last March, he worked on it every
weekend until our wedding, with me sitting in a lawn
chair close by, reading magazines and keeping him company.

And here we are with it for its big debut on our wedding day.  Caleb
finished it just in time, and it was everything I dreamed it would be.
We took pictures with it, and we drove away from our reception in it.

Now we finally have it home with us.  We are so excited for
beautiful weather to be able to drive around in it!
