So I have this thing for white pumpkins

This season I've been drawn to a more neutral fall decor, specifically white pumpkins! I love how white pumpkins can make a space feel festive without dominating the room. I'm not the type of person who does a complete overhaul of my home decor each season, so a neutral palette suits me best.  Here's some of my favorite inspiration for white pumpkin decor...

Thanksgiving Table Decor

Have you decided how you will decorate your table for Thanksgiving this year?  I'm not hosting Thanksgiving at my house, but I've found some great inspiration for beautiful Thanksgiving tables!  If you don't know where to start, I'd suggest looking through and taking note of what you have:  serveware, vases, table linens, votives, jars, twine, chargers, candles, even natural things like twigs, nuts, fruit, pinecones, etc.  You might be surprised with what you can do with things you already have on hand.  Next, browse magazines, Pinterest, and blogs to get some inspiration. Mix elements that you like, remembering the items you already have.  Finally, gather what you don't have and play around with it until you find something you like.

Remember to add some dimension to your table - it makes
it seem less crowded.  This would also be good if you don't have enough
matching dishes, because it draws the eye away from the table a bit.

Try to add different textures to the table.  Earthy, natural
things like twigs, burlap, twine, or berries can help with this.

If you want a simple table, flowers and candles (unscented)
always look good.  You could add some cornhusks around the votives
and vases to make it more Thanksgiving-y.

Spray painting pumpkins or pieces of fruit can brighten
up your table, and they also make pretty place cards.

A larger flower arrangement makes a beautiful centerpiece; try to
incorporate jewel tones and fall hues within the bouquet.

Create layers at each place setting with a charger and dishes.
Use boldly colored linens to contrast against your china.

Sometimes simple is best.  All-white china looks pretty with
crisp linens and a simple place card.

Touches of Fall

Last night we were at the mall and Christmas music was playing and all of the Christmas displays were up!  I just mentioned last week I hadn't completed my fall decorating, and now I'm getting robbed of the month of November!  But I am going to hold onto fall as long as I can.  I love Christmas but not until after Thanksgiving (except for the Christmas shopping I've already done)!  In decorating our house I like a simplistic, clean look.  Here are a few fall touches from around our home.

{fall flowers & a cinnamon candle on a silver tray}

{pinecones & cranberries in an apothecary jar}

{the remaining candy corn in the candy dish}

{apples in a glass bowl}

{give thanks pumpkin candle-holder}

{pinecones on my front door instead of a wreath}

Have you started decorating for Christmas?  Or are you still enjoying fall?

Decorating for the Fall

I really need to get with it as far as fall decor around my house.  Since we've moved, I've just been focusing on other things.  First it was getting new furniture, then it was hanging things on the wall and getting things framed, and lately it's been the hunt for throw pillows for the couch.  That was the worst of all because I am so picky and couldn't find anything suitable!  We finally got some over the weekend, I had a Skype session with my sister to make sure everything in the living room looked good, and we're done!

OK so fall decorations... this morning I finally got what I already have out but I think I need a little more.  I want a little pumpkin and a wreath.  And something fall-ish to put in an apothecary jar.  I know it's almost November so I'm super behind, but I don't decorate for Christmas until December 1st so I still have weeks of fall to enjoy!  I'm heading to Michael's today, so here are some fall decor ideas to inspire me and help get my craft on.

Making a monogram with silver thumbtacks in a pumpkin

I really like this burlap wreath and it's a DIY that's simple enough for me!

I love how simple these apothecary jars are with just nuts and ribbons

If we get tired of eating all those apples we picked, maybe I'll make these (tutorial here)

How cute are these?!

Some leaves and string and it's a festive votive!

I could do something like this instead of a wreath

Do you have any simple fall decor ideas for me??
