Missoni for Target

So, what did you all think after seeing the full Missoni for Target line yesterday?

missoni for target

When I went to Target yesterday mid-morning, a lot of the clothing racks were empty, or at least very picked over.  The store wasn't packed by any means, but people were definitely congregating around the Missoni endcaps and sections. I saw one woman who was camped out in the men's boxer/socks area.  Her cart was overflowing with Missoni things, even all on the floor around her!  Later I saw her checking out, and when I left her total was up to $1,479.  And she still had things left on the belt!

I had had my eyes on these flats, but when I tried them on I thought they were really uncomfortable.  I expect heels to be uncomfortable, but my whole purpose in wearing flats is to wear cute shoes that are comfortable!  So I decided to pass.  I love how cute they are though!

I also really liked this clutch.  As you can tell, I'm more interested in the smaller, more subtle pieces of the line.

Every time I tried to get on Target's site yesterday it was down.  I also overhead while I was at Target that some stores had sold out completely - by 10 AM!  Today I was able to get on Target.com and look around, and many of the items have already sold out.  This line has been such a success!

In the end all I got was two little plates, $2.99 each.  I didn't love the line (maybe I'm the only one?) so I didn't feel like I needed to buy it!

Did you buy anything from the Missoni for Target line?  Did you have difficulty getting the piece(s) you wanted?  Would you be willing to spend $1,479 on just Missoni for Target stuff??

  1. I will be honest and say I have no idea what the Missoni line is! I thought it was so ridiculous that people were acting like nutsos with the website being down and the stores being packed...but I can understand because the stuff is so cute :) BUUUUT I wouldn't spend over $1,000 on that stuff....so nuts!!! I do love that clutch though!

  8. I don't LOVE the line either, but I also haven't been able to see the line yet because Target has not been functioning online. I can't believe you braved going to the store. I heard some terror stories. Hope you're having a good week!

  10. Missoni patterns are so intense that, I think, they require a well-made, delicate fabric. On the cheaper fabric at Target, the patterns just look trashy. Or such is my opinion. : p

  11. Did you hear their new line crashed their site?! Crazy. I need to go in and check them out in person to see how I feel about the new line :)

  12. Ya know I wasn't as wild about it as all the hype, but there were a few select gems I wanted and of course they were totally sold out. I saw stuff on ebay being sold. These pillows would have been PERFECT for my living room and they totally had their own look compared to the rest of the line. Oh well.

  15. I love Missoni, but this stuff even though it was a collaboration, just kind of looks like cheap knockoffs. Fabric is so important with those patterns and when you cheapen it then a whole different look is created. I was thinking about getting some of the dishes though. And, that clutch is pretty cute.

  16. I hadn't heard much about the whole Missoni line for Target till yesterday and while I like some of it I defintely wouldn't have spent nearly $1500 on it. I don't have that kind of money to spend on anything, but if I did it would be to buy a better camera and pay some bills.

  17. oh my word - that is so much money! i'm kind of with you...just a whole lot of hype going on :)

  19. I'm glad that the flats are uncomfortable because I had my eyes on them and they were sold out. I ended up getting some Christmas gifts and some trays for the house.

  20. I haven't even been yet, but where I live that style is not very popular so I don't think things will be sold out yet! I love those shoes...too bad they were uncomfortable!

  23. I completely agree! I wasn't really a fan of it, it's too loud for my taste. But I love the smaller, more subtle things you got! :)

  24. I can't believe it's so big, too! Some of the accessory pieces are very cute but some of those clothing ones are really out there! I love the flats though! I would wear them!

  25. I haven't been digging the Missoni clothing items, too busy for me. I'm with you though on liking the little things like the clutch and some of the home decor stuff was cute. I'm traveling for work and to waste time I have stopped at Targets in 3 different cities now and there is nothing but a few Missoni kid items left.
